Nothings Gonna Stop Me Now/California Here We Come

After getting a win from a "greasy" game last night against the Kings, the Canucks suit up for the second night in a row to play against the Anaheim Ducks.  The Ducks haven't played a game since dealing the Toronto Maple Leafs their first win of the season 4 days ago.  The last time these two teams met was back in April of the 2008-09 season that resulted in a S/O Win for the Ducks.

Recent call-up Sergei Shirokov has been sent back down to the Canucks farm team (Manitoba Moose) after having played three games with 0 points, 1 shot on goal, and averaging under 15 minutes of ice time a game.  Mario Bliznak has been called-up instead.  Blizzy has put up 4 points in 8 games with the Moose this season.  Alex Bolduc has been left out after picking up an injury in last night's S/O game.  Darcy Hordichuk is a healthy scratch again tonight.

Jean-Sebastian Giguere will be out for the Ducks to nurse his groin injury giving Jonas Hiller the start in net.  Tonight would be a night to see which forwards can step out from their slumps, which skater will be greater, and which back-up goalie will be hotter than the other.  The other scratches made on the Ducks' side is Sheldon Brookbank, Evgeny Artyukhin, and Erik Christensen.
