  • UFC 105.  The favoured home-boy of Manchester, England, Michael Bisping, defeats Canadian Denis Kang in a TKO bout.
    • In the main fight of the night, HOF Randy Couture defeats Brandon Vera after the judges' deliberation of him ruling 29-28.  I thought it was going to be Vera, but the judges saw how Couture kept command of the game more apppealing.  But Vera had the most punishing blows of the bout!  Province article
  • After the 12th Round, Manny Pacquiao defeats Miguel Cotto and claimed the WBO welterweight title.  Source
  • Shawn Sawyer (Edmonton, AB) won silver at the Skate America competition in men's singles with 203.91 points for his first Grand Prix medal.  American, Evan Lysacek (and probably on the USA Olympic team in 2010), won Gold with 237.72.  Sawyer's routine  Lysacek's routine
  • Now onto another type of ice; speed-skating track.  Francois-Louis Tremblay of Alma, QB, won gold in the men's 500m final of the World Cup.  F-L Tremblay won gold with a time of 42.437 seconds, just a second before France's Thibault Fauconnet finished.
  • LA Galaxy defeat Houston Dynamo in Western Finals 2-nil.  CBC report
  • New Zealand qualified for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa with a 1-nil win over Bahrain.  After not making it to the WC after 28 years, the Kiwis are coming back.
    • Cameroon and Nigeria are the two other teams that have qualified today for the WC.
