Chilliwack Bruins vs. Vancouver Giants @ Pacific Coliseum
Mr. Hockey himself, Gordie Howe, did the ceremonial puck-drop prior to tonight's game. And he signed things and took pictures with hundreds of fans (that includes the Giants themselves).
Giants look far to end this new found losing-streak to their division rivals while Chilliwack looks to extend it.
Brandon Manning silenced the Coliseum with a bullet shot through the pads of Jamie Tucker. It quite seriously was silent.
But in the second, Brendan Gallagher starts it off for the Giants! Lance Bouma jabbed and jabbed at the puck and eventually, it ended up under and past Braden Gamble. Gally and Craig Cunningham had his back all throughout the play and got the extra points for the PPG.
During the second intermission, three WHL players were interviewed (at various, previous times) about Christmas time. Questions from traditions, carols, wish-list and the like. Pretty cute answers that really warmed the heart and brought that Christmas feeling just a bit closer.
We pull to the lead with a little bit of puck-luck! The fans would like to thank Mike Piluso for it, but I think Mike is thanking Mr. Hockey for "blessing" his stick. Garry Nunn picks up the only assist on the go-ahead goal.
To seal the deal, Chilliwack net two more goals. Both coming from Surrey born Kevin Sundher.
Tonight was the Giants' last game before the Christmas break. I don't think this was how they wanted to celebrate the holidays.
