(I've been meaning to use this for a while...  My Doctor love!)

Isn't it ironic how I posted on a bunch of Premier League postponements and then one happens in the NHL.

It doesn't happen often (if at all) but it did tonight.

The Tampa Bay Lightning vs. New Jersey Devils game at the Prudential Center has been postponed after 5 minutes of decision making between Gary Bettman and the other commissioners people.

In the middle of the game, the lights went dim and the play was stopped.  Everyone waited a while for the lights to go back on, but they never did.  That's when the decision came that the game would be completed at some other time.

Lucky break for Martin Brodeur and the rest of the Devils because they were trailing 3-nothing after about 31 minutes.  Now they have a chance to regroup, regather their thoughts, and pick back up to defeat the Bolts.

Still... interesting.  Never heard of a postponement in the new NHL - EVER!

  1. I was watching that game last night and sat through the whole delay, hoping that they would resume the game. It turns out the game will resume at 6 p.m. on Sunday January 10th. They are just going to pick up where they left off. It will be interesting to see how many fans show up Sunday. It seems like a waste of time and money to go to an arena to watch half of a game.
