  • Playoff update!
    • NHL: Detroit/San Jose: Detroit lost the first game of their series with a close 4-3 lost to the Sharks.  Now San Jose leads the series 1-0.
    • AHL
      • Hershey/Albany: The Bears were too much for Albany with a 5-4 OT win and sweeps the River Rats out of the playoffs.  Off to the conference finals Hershey goes!
      • Abbotsford/Hamilton: The Heat take the first game of the series with a 3-2 win over the Bulldogs and now lead the series 1-0.
    • OHL Finals: Windsor/Barrie: Windsor take a stunning 2-0 lead with a 5-4 win over the Colts.
  • IIHF World Champions roster update:  Team Canada has added four  more skaters to the roster.  LA Kings' Ryan Smyth will add some veteran to the very young roster; NYR's Michael Del Zotto and Buffalo Sabres' Tyler Myers will add some more youth.  And less than 24 hours after their elimination, Washington's Brooks Laich got the call for his country.  TSN breakdown
    • Team USA roster has been updated.  LA's Jack Johnson and Matt Greene have been called for national duty; NJD's Andy Greene; Coyotes' Keith Yandle - that's only the defence.  The offence will be aided by the Blues' TJ Oshie, Ottawa's Nick Foligno, Colorado's TJ Galliardi, and Buffalo's Tim Kennedy.  Boston College's Chris Kreider, St. Louis's goalie prospect Ben Bishop, and Finnish League goalie David Leggio are some of the unknowns out there.
  • NHL Awards!  The Hart Trophy nominees/finalists for the NHL's MVP award are: Sidney Crosby, Alex Ovechkin, and Henrik Sedin!
    • The NHL's foundation award finalists are Dustin Brown, Ryan Miller, and Mike Green.  One of these guys will win $25,000 for his charity.  About their charities...
    • the winner for the Jack Adams Award for the NHL's coach of the year have been narrowed down to three: Joe Sacco, Dave Tippet, and Barry Trotz
    • No longer is the award for the NHL's most oustanding player named  the 'Lester B. Pearson Award';  it is now the Ted Lindsay Award  NHLPA excuse and reactions
  • UEFA Champions League finals will be held on May 22nd at the Santiago Bernabeu.  Who will be playing?  Bayern Munich and Internazionale.  What time?  11:45 AM Pacific time.
