  • Playoff update!
    • NHL Finals
      • Chicago/Philadelphia: After a 4-3 win in OT, the Flyers make it a series (2-1 Chicago).  There will be no sweep for the Blackhawks.  There will be no 3-0 comeback for the Flyers.  It's going to be a good series, hockey fans.
    • The AHL Finals kick-off tomorrow at 7:00 PM ET at Hershey.  Will the Hershey Bears repeat as champions or will the Texas Stars claim that title?
  • Another signing in the sports world!  Vancouver Canucks have re-signed Cory Schneider to a 2-year contract.  Schneider will earn $1.8 million in those 2 years.  Canucks
  • Along with yesterdays announcement of the Canucks signing Anton Rodin, they have also signed Peter Andersson to a new contract.  Canucks
  • The Anaheim Ducks have extended their contract with defenceman Sheldon Brookbank.  Brookbank will be with the Ducks franchise for 2 more years (mind you, if there weren't any trades) which will see him earn $1.5 million over the two years.  Ducks
  • The winner of the General Manager of the Year award is... Phoenix Coyotes' GM Don Maloney!  He seriously deserves it after taking a team from basically nothing and ownerless to having them play the best season in franchise history since moving from the Peg.  NHL
  • PJ Carlesimo has officially been named the Toronto Raptors' assistant coach.  Raptors
  • The finalists for the Messier Leadership award are Sidney Crosby, Shane Doan, and Ryan Miller.  NHL
  • (Since I couldn't find this anywhere else) TSN has reported that Italian captain and Italian great Fabio Cannavaro has left the Italian giants Juventus to go play football in the United Arab Emirates.  The club he has signed with is Al Ahli based in Dubai.  TSN
  • Happy birthday is in need for: Matt Sera (36), Nikolay Davydenko (29), Chris Higgins (27), Brett Sutter (23), Patrik Berglund (22), and Sergio "Kun" Aguero (22)!  Oh, and apparently it's Gary Bettman's birthday too (58).  But I know we're not all to wrapped up with that.
