Les nouvelles

  • Playoff update:
    • NBA Finals
      • Boston/LAL:  It's not the final game, but it was an important one.  Between these two teams, out of the 10 times these two made the finals together, the winner of game 3 always ended up winning the championship.  The team that won this year's game 3 was the Lakers with a 91-84 win.  LAL now leads the series 2-1.
    • AHL Finals
      • Hershey/Texas: After losing both their home games to Texas, Hershey gave the Stars a taste of their own medicine with a 6-3 beat down to make the series 2-1 for the Stars.  5 unanswered goals!  WOAH!
    • NHL Finals
      • Chicago/Philadelphia: Today was an off-day, and so the series stands at 3-2 for Chicago.
  • One of my favourite and highly-respected AHL coaches, Scott Arniel (formerly of the Manitoba Moose (Baby Canucks!)) has been claimed by the Columbus Blue Jackets to be their head coach for the 2010-11 season.  I wish you the best of luck, Coach Arniel!  Too bad you won't get to be there for my shenanigans this year at prospects camp!  the AHL  Blue Jackets
  • The Pittsburgh Penguins have signed forward Nick Johnson to a 1-year, 2-year contract worh $500,000 at the NHL level.  Penguins
  • The Atlanta Thrashers has resigned forward Jim Slater to a 2-year, $2 million contract.  Thrashers
  • I don't know how I feel about this.  The Vancouver Whitecaps have released a new logo for their debut into the MLS in 2011.  Having grew up loving the Caps as much as I have, this new logo is not very appealing to me.  I don't like it, but as long as the club looks the same, I'm okay.  Whitecaps FC
  • Real Madrid and Gonzalo Higuain have come to an agreement that will keep Gonzo with the giants until June 2016.  Real Madrid
  • Happy birthday!!: Michael Cammalleri (28), Javier Mascherano (26), and Patrick Kaleta (23)
