  • 2010 FIFA World Cup update:
    • Netherlands v. Slovakia: After nil-nil at HT, the Dutch scored more than the Slovaks and won the match (2-1) and a date with the Brazilians.
    • Brazil v. Chile: Chile were stunned with a 3-nil loss from Brazil.  Brazil continue to powerhouse through the WC and have a chance to show themselves against the Dutch.
  • As the free agency frenzy nears, the waiver wire is on fire!  The Ottawa Senators have placed Jonathan Cheechoo on waivers.  Petteri Nokelainen and Jim Vandermeer of the Coyotes have also landed on the waiver wire.  Ales Kotalik and Ville Koistinen of the Florida Panthers have also been placed on the wire.
  • Before they hit the free agency market, the Montreal Canadiens signed Benoit pouliot and Tom Pyatt to a 1-year contract.  Pyatt signing  Pouliot signing
  • The members of the two Olympic hockey teams that won gold at the 2010 Olympics have been presented their rings!  A full out ceremony was held in Edmonton for the men and women that won our nation's gold.  TSN report
