Les nouvelles

  • 2010 FIFA World Cup update:
    • Netherlands v. Brazil: Just like I predicted, the Dutch are on to the semi-finals!!  After trailing 1-nil in HT, the Dutch took advantage of a non-Brazilian like defence and striked twice to make it a 2-1 Dutch victory.
    • Uruguay v. Ghana: After regular time and extra time, the score couldn`t be settled so the game had to continue to PKs.  After 5 shots taken by both sides, Uruguay won 1-1 (4-2 PK) and now have a date with the Dutch.
  • Another upset in the Wimbledon world.  The man who defeated Roger Federer, Tomas Berdych, has now swept Novak Djokovic in straight sets (6-3, 7-6 (9), and 6-3) to go on to his first major title finals.  Wimbledon tells ya'!
    • And in the other semi-finals that sported a Scotsman (Andy Murray) and a Spaniard (Rafa Nadal), many wanted both to continue but only once could win.  Nadal ended up with the win in straight sets (6-4, 7-6, 6-4) and now has a date with Berdych in the Wimbledon finals!  Match play-by-play
  • Columbus Blue Jackets have a new assistant coach!  And his name is Dan Hinote!
  • What is happening to my Reds?!   Liverpool have reported that Yossi Benayoun will not return next season under the Liverpool crest.  Instead, he's going to the (much hated) blue scum Chelsea FC.  This makes me a little sad inside.  WHY YOSSI?!  To all clubs, CHELSEA?!  The Reds talk  Blue chatter
