  • Chris Chelios has officially announced that he is hanging up his skates and jersey for a more suitable position for his age.  Chelios, after 26 seasons and 3 Stanley Cups, will now take the position as an advisor in the Detroit Red Wings organization.  At 48, he is the longest-tenured defencemen in NHL history and certainly has a lot of advice to share.  Red Wings
  • Nikolai Khabibulin's DUI case has come to a close in court.  Khabibulin received the minimum jail-time and has been sentenced to 30 days in prison.  Details at TSN
  • Toronto Maple Leafs have resigned Christian Hanson to a 1-year, 2-way contract.  Maple Leafs
  • Happy birthday to: Jean Beliveau (79), Scott Niedermayer (37), Radek Martinek (34), Dwayne Peel (29), Pepe Reina (28), Ryan Kesler (26), and Blake Wheeler (24).
