  • Darryl Sutter has stepped down from the General Manager post in Calgary and has been replaced by Jay Feaster for now.
  • A little bit of CHL news: the Vancouver Giants have traded away Craig Cunningham, the team's leading point-scorer this season, to the Portland Winterhawks in exchange for Spencer Bennett and Teal Burns. You can say my stomach lurched a little with this news.  Cunningham was one of the kids I grew up watching and loving with on the Giants and now he's gone, the franchise is taking on a new look I'm not used to.  All the best of luck to him in Portland!!  Giants
  • The Colorado Avalanche have signed Marek Svatos to a 1-year contract which will see him earn $800,000 at the NHL level.  Blues
  • Canadian skier, Louis-Pierre Helie, is currently in the hospital after his crash in the World Cup training session, suffering a head injury.  TSN
  • The Montreal Canadiens have acquired James Wisniewski from the New York Islanders in exchange for a second-round pick in the upcoming 2011 draft and a conditional 5th-round pick in 2012.  Canadiens
  • Injury update:  It is official.  Canada will be without Zach Kassian and Calvin de Haan for the game against.  De Haan has suffered a lower-body injury after running into the end-boards in the game against the Czech Republic.  TSN
    • Chicago Blackhawks' Jonathan Toews left the game early against the St. Louis Blues.  Toews did not return to the bench after the first period due to an upper-body injury.
    • On the up-side, Patrick Kane is back!
    • The Edmonton Oilers Ryan Whitney has suffered a right ankle injury in the game against the Buffalo Sabres.
