  • Trade news: We all know that Ontario is a little busy.  Well, the first news my phone gets is news from Ontario.  The Ottawa Senators and Colorado Avalanche struck a deal for goalies.  Craig Anderson is to now don the Senators' jersey whilst Brian Elliott will wear the Avanlanche jersey.  Senators, Avalanche
    • The Boston Bruins was also very busy today with trade talks.  The first deal to be struck was a deal between them and the Atlanta Thrashers.  Bruins acquired Rich Peverly and Boris Valabik.  The Thrashers have gained Blake Wheeler and Mark StuartThrashers
    • The Bruins also acquired Tomas Kaberle from the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for Joe Coburn and a 1st-round pick in 2011 and a conditional 2nd-round pick in 2012. (Condition: If Kaberle re-signs with Boston or the Bruins go to the Cup.) Maple Leafs, Bruins
    • Derek Joslin has been acquired by the Carolina Hurricanes from the San Jose Sharks in exchange for future considerations.  HurricanesSharks  
    • Ian White is bound for the San Jose Sharks!  In return, the Carolina Hurricanes have acquired a 2nd-round draft pick in 2012.  HurricanesSharks
    • Eric Brewer waived his no-trade clause and was thus traded by the St. Louis Blues to the Tampa Bay Lightning in exchange for prospect Brock Beukeboom and a 3rd-round pick.  BluesLightning
    • The St. Louis Blues have also traded Erik Johnson, Jay McClement, and a conditional 2011 or 2012 1st-round pick to the Colorado Avalanche for Chris Stewart, Kevin Shattenkirk, and a conditional 2011 or 2012 2nd-round pick.  Blues,
  • Some news for the Manchester United fans: Ryan Giggs (As much as I hate Man Utd, I respect this guy) has signed a contract with the English Giants, keeping him with the club for another year, seeing him (expectedly) play twenty-five seasons with the Red Devils.  Man Utd
  • Injury update: Arron Asham of the Pittsburgh Penguins has been experiencing some concussion-like symptoms.  It wouldn't be a shock to see him be a scratch the next game.
    • The Pens' Nick Johnson left Friday's practice with an upper-body injury.  Penguins

  • In the game against the Philadelphia Flyers, the Carolina Hurricanes retired Rod Brind'Amour's #17 to the rafters.  It's great to see a great player get the great honour after all he has done for the club.  Will post up links later.
