  • Gossip: So I now have confirmation on this; Kaká (of Real Madrid) and his wife, Caroline, have welcomed the birth of the second child - and first daughter - Isabella on Saturday in Sao Paolo, Brazil. Source
  • The Masterton award is awarded to the player who "best exemplifies the qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship, and dedication to hockey." This year's nominees are Ray Emery (Anaheim Ducks), Daymond Langkow (Calgary Flames), and Ian Laperriere (Philadelphia Flyers).
  • Rumour mill: Doug Weight of the New York Islanders is said to be contemplating retirement. The 40-year-old has played in the NHL since 1991 and was limited to eighteen games in the 2010-11 season. The 2006 Stanley Cup winner, 2002 Olympic gold medalist, and 1996 World Championship gold medalist will be weighing his options this off-season and we will see what his decision is at least by next-season.

    • OHL
      • Eastern Conference finals: Mississauga Majors won a big 4-1 game over the Niagara Ice Dogs, and have won the series 4-1. Who will be their opponents in the OHL finals?
      • Western Conference finals: Owen Sound Attack lead the Windsor Spitfires 3-1 in the series
    • QMJHL
      • St. John Sea Dogs took another win over the Lewiston MAINEiacs and are now up 3-0 in the series
      • Quebec Remparts made the score immitate that of the series as they took a 2-1 win over the Gatineau Olympiques to lead the series 2-1
    • WHL
      • Eastern Conference finals: Kootenay Ice took a menacing 3-1 win over the Medicine Hat Tigers to take a commanding 3-0 series lead
      • Western Conference finals: Portland Winterhawks are tied with the Spokane Chiefs 1-1 in the series
  • AHL playoff update:
    • East
      • Having finished the first round in the East a while ago, here is another review of the match-ups for the Eastern Semi-finals: Portland Pirates will play the Binghamton Senators; the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins will play the Charlotte Checkers
    • West
      • Manitoba Moose came back after being down in the series to defeat the Lake Erie Monsters 4-1 to win the series 4-3
      • So this is how Round 2 will look like in the West: the Hamilton Bulldogs will play the Manitoba Moose and the Milwaukee Admirals will play the Houston Aeros
  • NHL playoff update:
    • East
      • Montreal Canadiens played one heck of game against the Boston Bruins and pulled out a win to tie the series up at 3-3
      • Philadelphia Flyers forced fate and won a PP-run game against the Buffalo Sabres to win the series 4-3
      • After winning the last two games, the Tampa Bay Lightning have forced a Game 7 with the Pittsburgh Penguins in a 3-3 series tie
      • Washington Capitals await for the first round to be all cleaned up after their defeat of the New York Rangers days ago
    • West
      • Vancouver Canucks exercised their demons and defeated the Chicago Blackhawks in OT to win the series 4-3. That's right - I CRIED!
      • And this is how the West's second round will be played: Detroit Red Wings will play San Jose Sharks and the Nashville Predators will play the Vancouver Canucks
