  • Remember that comment about reffing in games 1-6 Vancouver Canucks' GM Mike Gillis made a couple of days ago? Well, the league heard about it and handed out a punishment. Gillis was fined an undisclosed amout (rumour is that it's hefty) for them. TSN
  • Canadian figure skater Patrick Chan skated a world-record worthy short-program in the World Championship. After the short-program, Chan was awarded a score of 93.02 setting a new world-record! TSN
  • Selke Trophy nominees have been annouced today! Like many years in recent past, Pavel Datsyuk (Detroit Red Wings) has been nominated along with Ryan Kesler (Vancouver Canucks) once again and Jonathan Toews (Chicago Blackhawks). Quite a good list of candidates and it will be a tight race between them all to see who wins.
  • CHL playoff update:
    • OHL - Conference Finals
      • Eastern Conference finals: After a win on Tuesday night, the Mississauga Majors are onto the OHL finals after winning the series 4-1 against the Niagara Ice Dogs
      • Western Conference finals: Windsor Spitfires were badly defeated on Wednesday (10-4) by the Owen Sound Attack who win the series 4-1 and move on towards the OHL finals
    • QMJHL - Semi-finals
      • St. John Sea Dogs take another win over the Lewiston MAINEiacs and sweeps them to win th series 4-0
      • Quebec Remparts take another game against the Gatineau Olympiques and now lead the series 3-1
    • WHL - Conference Finals (being played)
      • Eastern Conference finals: Medicine Hat Tigers devestatingly lost to the Kootenay Ice and lost the series in a 4-0 sweep
      • Western Conference finals: Portland Winterhawks took a 3-2 win in the OT period over the Spokane Chiefs and are now up 2-1
  • AHL playoff update: Round 2
    • East
      • Portland Pirates drop Game 1 to the Binghamton Senators and have given the series lead to the Baby Sens 1-0
      • Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins and the Charlotte Checkers have yet to start their series and thus are 0-0 in the series
    • West
      • The two Canadian franchises will play each other in Round 2. The Hamilton Bulldogs will play the Manitoba Moose in the second round.
      • Milwaukee Admirals will play the Houston Aeros in the second round, but currently stand at a yet-to-be-started series at 0-0
  • NHL playoff update:
    • East
      • Boston Bruins defeated the Montreal Canadiens in the OT period and win the series 4-3. It was a great series while it lasted and I cannot wait to see the brilliance that is Montreal grow next season!
      • Tampa Bay Lightning and Dwayne Roloson get a shutout 1-0 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins and go on towards Round 2 for the first time since their Stanley Cup in 2004 4-3
      • This is how Round 2 looks like in the East: Washington Capitals will play the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Philadelphia Flyers will play the Boston Bruins
    • West
      • Round 2 in the West will look like this: Vancouver Canucks will play the Nashville Predators and the Detroit Red Wings will play the San Jose Sharks.
