  • Okay, so I stayed up from 11 p.m PST to 6 a.m. PST just to watch the royal wedding! So y'all better be celebrating this great union between two lovers who are truly in love! Congratulations William, Duke of Cambridge and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge! May you have a wonderful life and reign together. Future prediction: their babies are going to look SOOO good!
  • Back to the sports. Buffalo Sabres have come to an agreement and have extended head coach Lindy Ruff's contract for many more years. Sabres
  • The award that goes to the best coach of the season - the Jack Adams Trophy - has its nominees annunced. The nominees are Alain Vigneault (Vancouver Canucks), Barry Trotz (Nashville Predators), and Dan Bylsma (Pittsburgh Penguins).
  • After the short dance program at the World Figure Skating Championship, Canada's Scott Moir and Tessa Virtue lead the competition with a score of 74.29. TSN
  • CHL playoff update:
    • OHL Finals: (play will resume on May 3rd)
      • Owen Sound Attack and Mississauga Majors will play each other in the OHL finals to see who will get the better seeding in the Memorial Cup. Mississauga is guaranteed a spot as the hosts and the Owen Sound will be guaranteed as the "champions" of the OHL (no matter who wins, someone needs to go on from the OHL and the hosts can't count for both).
    • QMJHL: Semi-Finals
      • Quebec Remparts dropped Game 5 to the Gatineau Olympiques, but they still have a 3-2 series lead
    • WHL: Conference Finals
      • Portland Winterhawks dropped Game 4 to the Spokane Chiefs who have tied the series 2-2
      • Kootenay Ice practice as they wait for their opponents in the finals after sweeping the Medicine Hat Tigers
  • AHL playoff update - Round 2
    • East
      • Binghamton Senators hold a 2-0 upset series lead over the Portland Pirates
      • Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins dropped Game 1 to the Charlotte Checkers to fall behind 1-0 in the series
    • West
      • With the 3-1 win, the Milwaukee Admirals took Game 1 to the books and hold a 1-0 series lead over the Houston Aeros
      • Hamilton Bulldogs took an early 1-0 series lead over the Manitoba Moose
  • NHL playoff update:
    • East
      • Tampa Bay Lightning upsetted the Washington Capitals in Game 1 and took an early 1-0 series lead.
      • Boston Bruins and Philadelphia Flyers have yet to play the first game of the series and are thus still 0-0 in the series
    • West
      • It took an OT period, but the San Jose Sharks came back from behind the Detroit Red Wings to lead the series 1-0
      • Vancouver Canucks recorded a Game 1 shutout against the Nashville Predators to lead the series 1-0
